Multi-factor authentication on an app makes your personal information harder to access for a would-be hacker.

As Airbnb collects a lot of information, like your credit card number, multi-factor authentication is vital – the app automatically enables it once you add a phone number to your profile.

On Airbnb’s website, the company says that without multi-factor authentication, you won’t be in compliance with regulations and will not be able to access critical parts of your account essential for hosting guests.
